Tips for Dealing with Influenza

The Flu: A Guide for Parents

Flu and cold season is here, and many students have been diagnosed with influenza. Here are some facts to help you decide if your student is too sick for school:
Fever: If temperature is over 100 degrees, please keep student home, as they are considered contagious. Students need to be fever-free without the use of Tylenol/ibuprofen products for 24 hours before they return to school.
Students need to be free of vomiting and diarrhea for 24 hours before they return to school.
Antibiotic treatment: If a doctor has prescribed an antibiotic, please make sure they are on the antibiotic for 24 hours before they return to school. This gives time for the medicine to start working.
